Semi-permanent exhibition

The historical collection of Deventer contains several top pieces of national and even international fame. For the first time in years, these top pieces have been brought together.

On the first floor, you will find our top pieces room with famous 17th-century masters such as Gerard ter Borch II and Hendrick ter Brugghen. From later times, there are works by Cornelis Springer, but also by the Deventer-born master forger Han van Meegeren.

Thanks to the Waag Association, the Rembrandt Association, and individuals, the collection is still enriched with new pieces. Among the top pieces, you will also find some recent acquisitions by the Deventer-born painter Bartholomeus Breenbergh.
